portfolio institutionell Awards 2020: Winners announced

Portfolio institutionell, the German sister publication of portfolio institutional, has announced the winners of its 2020 awards.

Despite the challenging circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic, institutional investors in Germany were able to participate in the 14th annual of the renowned awards ceremony, which recognises the contributions of key institutional investors across Germany.

The ceremony took place at the spacious Tempodrom venue in Berlin, allowing attendees to respect social distancing measures. The prestigious Readers’ Choice award for thought leadership was awarded to the pugnacious economist Claudia Kemfert for her work on energy economics and sustainability.

14 awards were presented on the night:

Best insurance company: Provinzial Rheinland

Best pension scheme/supplementary pension scheme: PensionskasseDegussa VVaG

Best pension fund: CTA: Deutsche Telekom

Best bank: Kreisparkasse Biberach

Best foundation: Evangelischer Johannesstift

Best corporate treasurer: Osram

Best risk management: Soka Bau

Best portfolio structure: Lebensversicherung 1871 a.G. München

Bet sustainable investor: Deutsche Telekom

Best real estate investor: MEAG (Munich Ergo Asset Management GmbH)

Best equity investor: Stiftung Erinnerung, Verantwortung und Zukunft (EVZ foundation)

Best fixed income investor: Lebensversicherung 1871 a.G. München (Life insurance 1871 Munich)

Best alternatives investor: MEAG (Munich Ergo Asset Management GmbH)

Best local authority investor: Stadt München, Alte Hansestadt Lemgo (The city of Munich, The Hanseatic city of Lemgo)
