The £430m Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames Pension Fund has appointed Aon Hewitt to provide investment advice.
The 11,000-member scheme hired the consultant through the Croydon Framework agreement, which aims to deliver greater savings and efficiency in the public sector through sharing services and undertaking joint procurement exercises wherever possible.
Aon Hewitt will initially be carrying out a review of the fund’s investment strategy as well as providing tailored training for panel members of the Croydon Framework.
Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames Pension Fund head of finance – strategy and accounting Jeremy Randall, said: “We look forward to working with Aon Hewitt as part of the Croydon Framework. The framework is offering local authorities both greater efficiency and the opportunity to maintain control of costs for their pension schemes.”
Aon Hewitt principal consultant and head of the Public Sector Investment team Emily McGuire added: “Our first task will be to help the panel to determine their long-term investment strategy and we look forward to playing a leading role in the fund’s future success.”
