Join portfolio institutional and Candriam as we examine the ins and outs of ESG engagement and beyond in a virtual event exclusively for investment consultants.

ESG engagement is rightly at the forefront of the agenda. We have assembled a panel of leading industry experts to explore the value, practical considerations and challenges that surround ESG engagement in 2021 comprising: 

  • David Czupryna, Head of ESG Development at Candriam, has extensive experience of ESG issues and a wealth of client experience    
  • Anne-Marie Williams, leading Investor Engagement Manager at ShareAction Her passion for responsible investment permeates her work of engaging with institutional investors, primarily large UK and European asset managers and pension funds across all of ShareAction’s initiatives
  • Simon Jones, Partner and Head of Responsible Investment at Hymans Robertson, leads the development of the firm’s approach to advising clients on responsible investment matters and has worked with various organisations on the development and implementation of responsible investment policies

Speakers

Anne-Marie Williams

Anne-Marie is passionate about Responsible Investment and following a background in asset management and then education, she joined ShareAction in 2015 as a Senior Analyst and Engagement Officer. As Investor Engagement Manager, she now focuses on engaging with institutional investors, primarily large UK and European asset managers and pension funds across all of ShareAction’s initiatives which cover the Food and Health, Good Work and Climate areas. She is also involved in the follow up engagement for ShareAction’s surveys which rank investors on their responsible investment performance. She developed her interest in responsible investment while working as a Treasurer of the charity Listening Books over the past 15 years. She holds a BA (Hons) in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford.

Simon Jones

Simon is a Partner and Head of Responsible Investment at Hymans Robertson.  In this role, Simon leads the development of the firms approach to advising clients on responsible investment matters and has worked with various organisations on the development and implementation of responsible investment policies.  Simon has over 25 years pensions and investment experience, is a Fellow of the Faculty of Actuaries and the Immediate Past Chair of the IFoA Sustainability Board.  Simon also has a Masters in Ecological Economics from the University of Edinburgh.

David Czupryna

David Czupryna joined Candriam in 2018. As Head of ESG Development, he is responsible for business development and for communicating the company’s ESG expertise. He is the principal intermediary between our ESG management/analysis team and our clients.

Before that, David led the growth of ESG strategies in German speaking countries at Sycomore Asset Management and in Northern Europe at Erste Asset Management. David started his career with BNP Paribas in London on the equity derivative structuring desk.

David holds an MBA from the University of Cambridge as well as Masters degrees in political science from the Free University of Brussels and the Catholic University of Louvain.

 

Kroum Sourov, ESG Analyst

Kroum joined Candriam as Sovereign ESG Analyst in 2018, from UK Resus Investments where he hold a position as Director, Sustainable Investment Management. He started his career in 2004 as analyst by Goldman Sachs, and then carried different roles by Barclays Capital, UBS and different UK based Asset managers. Kroum holds a Master of Finance from the University of Cambridge, UK and a Bachelor of Arts (Colgate University, USA).

Arnaud Peythieu

Arnaud Peythieu joined Candriam’s ESG Team as an analyst in 2017. His research experience includes Metals & Mining, Water Risks, and Human Rights. Previously, he had been an SRI analyst with Amundi Asset Management in France. Arnaud Peythieu holds a Masters in Finance from Montpelier Business School.


Fawzy Salarbux, Global Head of Consultant Relations

Fawzy Salarbux joined Candriam as Global Head of Consultant Relations in March 2016. He is responsible for Candriam’s institutional business strategy with global investment consultants and UK consultants. Fawzy has nearly 20 years of experience in the institutional business. Prior to joining Candriam, Fawzy was Head of Global Consultants at Pictet Asset Management (Aug. 2011 – Dec. 2015) where he was responsible for Pictet’s global consultant relationships and UK business development. Fawzy started his career in investment consulting with Aon in 2000 and moved to Mercer 2005. At Mercer, Fawzy was a senior investment consultant and advised a portfolio of UK and European institutional clients on investment strategy, risk management, manager selection and implementation. Fawzy holds a BSc. in Business Mathematics and Statistics from the London School of Economics and Political Science and holds the Investment Management Certificate.
