Emerging Market Debt Roundtable and Networking

20 Jul 2022

Lincoln’s Inn, 11A New Square, Lincoln's Inn, London, WC2A 3QB

Emerging Market Debt Roundtable | 20th of July 2022 | 10:00 am -1:00 pm

Emerging markets have been hailed as the driver of the world’s economic growth since the financial crisis. Favourable demographics and demand for commodities have been behind more than half of the globe’s rising GDP in recent years.

Yet the impact of Covid continuing to linger, inflation, rising US interest rates, weaker currencies and trouble in China has seen investors dump their emerging market assets this year. Indeed, almost $10bn left these markets during March.

But are investors being too hasty to exit these markets? We are hosting a roundtable with pension schemes, asset managers and consultants to find out if investors should consider emerging market debt and where they could find value.

The event is an opportunity to join peers and the portfolio institutional team to discuss trends and issues around emerging market debt. Following the formal discussion, the audience attendees will have the opportunity to take part in a Q&A session with the panellists and enjoy the post-event networking session to further discuss issues and trends within emerging market debt, as well as wider issues currently facing the institutional investment community over refreshments and lunch canapés.

  • How are investors navigating the growing list of geopolitical risks?
  • Are investors favouring hard or soft currency debt?
  • Are EM debt portfolios ready for a hawkish Fed?
  • How are debt investors targeting the commodities boom?
  • Are investors implementing ESG factors into debt agreements?
  • Is transparency improving in the developing world?
  • What are you expecting to see in the asset class in the next 12 months?
