Henderson has appointed Paul O’Connor from Mercer Investment Consulting as director of multi-asset.
O’Connor will join the multi-asset team on 28 January working across the product range, contributing to asset allocation, investment management, product development and client servicing.
He will be based in London, reporting to head of multi-asset, Bill McQuaker (pictured).
At Mercer, O’Connor was partner and head of asset allocation in the EMEA sector. Prior to this he spent 14 years at Credit Suisse as a strategist and proprietary trader responsible for investing in equities, ETFs, government bonds, FX and commodities.
McQuaker said: “During the course of his career Paul has built a complete set of asset allocation skills spanning fixed income, equities, cash and alternatives. Having worked with Paul for a number of years at Credit Suisse I am very familiar with how he operates. Given the team approach we take, his collegiate style will be extremely valuable. He will be a great addition to our team and to Henderson as a whole.”
This is second appointment to Henderson’s multi-asset team in the last month. In December, James de Bunsen joined the team as a fund manager from Armstrong Investment Managers.
As at 31 December, 2012 the multi-asset team had £5.4bn in assets under management.
