RPMI Railpen has strengthened its property team with two senior hires.

Alastair Dawson and Richard van Lente have joined the £27bn scheme, reporting to head of property Anna Rule.

Dawson becomes senior property asset manager focusing on the scheme’s industrial and office holdings, while van Lente sits in the senior property asset and development manager’s seat.

Both bring substantial experience to the scheme with Dawson joining from CBRE’s national asset management team, where he was responsible for industrial bricks and mortar.

van Lente quit Camden-focused property developer Market Tech to take charge of the fund’s retail assets.

They join a team that also comprises head of property asset management Matthew Howard and investment manager Helena Nicholls.

Rule said property is core to Railpen’s diverse portfolio and these appointments bring additional knowledge and experience to the team.

“I look forward to working with them to deliver the long-term sustainable returns that our members need through proactive property asset management,” he added.
