Independent Trustee Services (ITS) has hired Andy Smith as client director to increase the number of the organisation’s trustee appointments.

Smith (pictured) will continue in his role of chief executive of the £5bn Invensys Pension Scheme while carrying out his brief at ITS.

Prior to taking up the top job at the Invensys’ pension scheme in 2012 he was chief executive of Rothesay Life. Before this the accountant honed his skills working in various roles at Prudential for 17 years.

ITS managing director Chris Martin said Smith brings experience of working directly with the Invensys Pension Scheme’s Trustee Board to the organisation.

“His appointment brings yet another perspective and dimension to ITS’ senior team and illustrates the way we can adapt our business model to meet the continuing demand for our services,” he added.
