David Maddison has joined the board of trustees for the £4bn master trust The People’s Pension as of June.

David Maddison has joined the board of trustees for the £4bn master trust The People’s Pension as of June.

His appointment follows the departure of Ruston Smith, who will leave his role as trustee for the master trust at the end of May after two years of service.

Steve Delo, chair of The People’s Pension trustee comments on Maddisons appointment: “David is a respected figure across the pensions industry, and we are delighted that he will be joining the Trustee. His energy, expertise and experience will help ensure that we continue to provide excellent value for money for our members, putting them at the heart of everything we do.”

Maddison joins from RPMI, where he most recently worked as scheme managing director to supporting the Railways Pension Scheme trustee board.

With 30 years of experience in the pensions industry, he is a fellow of the Pensions Management Institute, an associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a chartered director from the Institute of Directors.

He is also a non-executive director of Health Shield Friendly Society Ltd serving as chairman of the Business Development and Investment Committee and a member of the Nomination and Remuneration and Pensions Governance Committees.
