The Pensions Management Institute, an industry body for UK pension professionals, has elected Lesley Carline as its new president.

Carline, who has won the backing at PMI’s annual general meeting, has spent the past nine years as council member for the industry  group and took on the role of PMI vice president in August last year.

This included serving on the advisory body and PMI board as well as taking on responsibility for chairing its development committee.

Overall, she has more than 26 years of industry experience, having worked among others as head of sales and marketing at RMPI and has also acted as a consultant to The Pensions Regulator and the Department of Work and Pensions.

Carline will fulfill her new role alongside her current position as director at pensions consultance KGC Associates, which she held for more than six years.

At PMI, she will work alongside the two vice presidents Lorraine Harper and Lesley Alexander who has been elected to the position succeeding Lesley Carline.

Elected to the Advisory Council are Sara Cook, Christine Kerr, Rosie Lacy, Chris Parrott and Ian Wright.

Carline replaces Robert Branagh, who took on the role of president in August last year but is not available to stand for the PMI council for another five year term. Earlier this year, he has taken on a role as managing director of the London Pension Fund Authority.
