PIC appoints chief actuary

PIC appoints chief actuary

Mona Dohle
Friday 1st June 2018

DB scheme insurance provider Pension Insurance Corporation (PIC) has hired former PwC partner Dominic Veney as chief actuary and member of the senior management team.

In his new role, Veney will be responsible for leading the actuarial team at PIC and provide the regular reporting and analysis of the company’s financial performance across all solvency and shareholder metrics. He replaces current chief actuary Jim Collins, who will leave his role at the insurance provider.

Rob Sewell, CFO at PIC comments on Veney’s appointment: “As we continue to insure increasing amounts of defined benefit pension fund liabilities we will benefit from Dominic’s considerable experience, technical capability and passion for excellence.”

Veney joins from PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he was on charge of the firm’s 100 person strong UK life actuarial team. Overall, he has 20 years of experience in the insurance industry.
