Axa Investment Managers has appointed Tim Gardener as head of its newly-formed Institutional Client Group.

Gardener (pictured), who was previously global head of consultant relations at Axa IM, will work alongside former head of solutions development in Axa IM’s Multi Asset Client Solutions team, Elodie Laugel, who has been appointed as deputy head of the new group.

The Institutional Client Group had been created to focus on the investment needs of distinct client groups and is part of Axa IM’s wider client group of 250 professionals led by Laurent Seyer.

Seyer said: “The Institutional Client Group will ensure that we are leveraging this competitive advantage to the benefit of all of our clients.  It will also support Axa IM in being as well positioned as possible to help its clients and consultants address the investment challenges facing them.”

Gardener will be replaced as global head of consultant relations by current European head of consultant relations, Lisa O’Connor.
