Investment and risk specialist Cardano has named Cédric Bucher as co-head of defined contribution (DC).

He took up his new role in September and is working alongside Ralph Frank on developing the commercial side of the firm’s DC business.

Bucher (pictured) was previously head of UK funds at Architas and has also held senior positions at SEI Investments and Barclays Wealth.

Last month the firm was appointed by auto-enrolment retirement scheme specialist National Employment Savings Trust (NEST) to provide general investment advice, select fund managers and advise on changes in legalisation.

Cardano co-chief executive Michaël De Lathauwer said Bucher’s track-record of building new propositions makes him an ideal fit for the next stage the firm’s DC development.

“He joins an experienced team with a clear focus and vision about what DC clients need, and his experience, insight and drive will be crucial in helping us deliver,” he added.

Bucher said: “The Cardano approach is founded on a philosophy of generating stable and consistent outcomes and I look forward to bringing this approach to the DC market.”
