OVERALL WINNER
Mercer was ranked the top investment consultant in the UK market overall (see full list, below) after obtaining consistent results in all four categories and an overall score of 13.95. It came top in the ‘ relationship management’ category and second place in the remaining three: ‘willingness to take on board ideas or products’, ‘quality of research’ and ‘innovation and development in DC pensions’. Mercer also ranked first in both the 2011 and 2014 surveys.
One respondent said of Mercer: “Accessible and transparent with good feedback throughout the manager research process. Clearly the market leader.”
In second place overall was Willis Towers Watson with 13.49 points after achieving top spot in both the ‘quality of research’ and ‘innovation and development in DC pensions’ categories. Meanwhile, Redington finished in third place overall with 12.92 points, having topped the ‘willingness to take on board ideas or products’ category and second place in the ‘relationship management’ category.
