For this category, respondents were asked to rate consultants based on how innovative they were in terms of openness to taking on board funds and strategies and recommending them to clients, and whether there was a back-and-forth dialogue concerning investment ideas.

Redington came out on top in this category with a score of 3.59.

One respondent said: “Redington have a strong depth of thought leadership – both for their clients and also more widely in terms of their RedStart initiatives, etc. More so, they maximise the impact of all of this with extensive marketing and PR. How do they find time to do all this?”

Another added: “The intellectual capital at Redington is impressive. [They] always seem to know where the market is in terms of achievable risk-return levels in various asset classes.”

In second place was Mercer (3.40), followed by Ernst & Young (EY) in third (3.25). Ranked last in this category was Stamford Associates with 2.00 points, just below Aon Hewitt in 20th with 2.37 points.
